Description
Delicious cinnamon sugar twists made with puff pastry and air fried to golden perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Lay the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface or parchment paper. Gently roll it out just to smooth the creases, but keep the thickness even.
- Brush the entire surface of the puff pastry with melted butter. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Generously sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over one half of the pastry sheet.
- Fold the pastry in half (like closing a book) so the cinnamon sugar is sandwiched inside. Press gently to seal. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the folded sheet into 1-inch wide strips.
- Take each strip and twist it a few times to form a spiral. This helps the layers puff beautifully and gives them their signature shape.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. Lightly spray or line the basket with parchment paper. Place the twists in the basket, leaving a little space between them so they can puff up. Air fry in batches if needed. Cook for 7–9 minutes, or until the twists are golden brown and crisp.
- Let them cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with a glaze if desired.
Notes
- Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model; check for doneness around 7 minutes.
- These twists are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a day.
