Instructions

  1. Start by peeling and deveining the shrimp. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt to create the batter.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers, around 350°F.
  4. Dredge each shrimp in the prepared batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  5. Fry the shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. In a separate saucepan, combine orange juice, sugar, and soy sauce. Heat until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
