Description
This delicious slow cooker ham is sweetened with pineapple and brown sugar, making it perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/4 – 1/2 ham (precooked, we made 1/4 ham)
- 1 can pineapple (chunks or tidbits)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 cloves (whole, optional)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 3/4 cup pineapple juice (use what’s in the can)
Instructions
- Put your precooked ham inside your slow cooker. We had a quarter ham that fit nicely, if you have a really large crockpot you may be able to cook a half ham in it.
- In a small bowl mix together your cup of brown sugar and 3/4 cup of pineapple juice. Pour this on top of your ham.
- Push your whole cloves into your ham (optional). Pour 1 cup of pineapple chunks or tidbits on top of your ham, drizzle your honey on top and close your lid.
- If cooking a quarter ham, set to low for 3-4 hours until it is warmed in the center. If cooking a half ham, cook on low for 6-8 hours or until warmed to your liking.
- Baste the ham halfway through the cooking process with the juices at the bottom. Check internal temp. of ham in center, should reach 145°F before serving.
- Slice and serve drizzled with pineapple sauce from the slow cooker. If you want to thicken the sauce, pour it (without pineapple chunks) into a small pan on your stovetop. Whisk together some liquid with 1-3 tbsp of cornstarch in a small bowl.
- Dump this back into your pot and allow to bubble until it thickens to your liking, then serve this on the side to pour on top.
Notes
- For the best results, ensure your ham is fully cooked before serving.
- You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of brown sugar or honey.
- Use a meat thermometer to check the doneness of the ham.
