Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Chicken Lo Mein that’s perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs
  • 8 oz lo mein or yakisoba noodles
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp oil (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Mince garlic and ginger, chop green onions, and prepare the sauce ingredients.
  3. Boil noodles as directed, then drain and rinse with cold water. Toss with a bit of oil to prevent sticking.
  4. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, water, and cornstarch.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and fully cooked, about 5–6 minutes.
  6. Pour in the sauce and stir until thick and glossy, coating the chicken well.
  7. Add cooked noodles and toss everything together until evenly coated.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
