- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder

- 1/2 cup dried fruits or nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your muffin tin with liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, bran flakes, baking powder, and brown sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat milk, eggs, and canola oil until smooth.
- Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring gently; don’t overmix.
- Fold in any optional add-ins like dried fruits or nuts.
- Divide the batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For added sweetness, consider using honey or maple syrup in place of some brown sugar.
- These muffins can be frozen for up to 3 months.
