- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup jam (strawberry or raspberry)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the mixture; let sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Mix in melted butter and eggs until combined. Gradually add flour while stirring to form a sticky dough.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for approximately 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick, then spread the jam evenly over the surface.
- Roll up the dough tightly into a log shape, pinch seams closed, and twist before placing in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped lightly.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
