Description
A delicious and creamy scalloped potatoes dish made with layers of potatoes, cheese, and onions.

- 3 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp butter

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Sauté the onions and garlic until soft.
- In a bowl, mix heavy cream with salt and pepper; stir in half of the cheddar cheese.
- Layer one-third of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the onion mixture and one-third of the cream mixture. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Cover with foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle remaining cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding herbs such as thyme or rosemary.
- Make sure the potatoes are cut uniformly for even cooking.
