Description
This delicious chocolate pecan pie is a perfect dessert for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the oven rack in the center position.
- If you’re using a store-bought crust, place it in a 9-inch pie dish. If you’re making your own, roll out the dough and press it into the dish. Crimp the edges as desired.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, and salt. Whisk until the mixture is smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
- Stir in the vanilla extract for added flavor.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped pecans until they are evenly distributed.
- Pour the filling mixture into the prepared pie crust, ensuring it is evenly spread.
- Place the pie on an oven rack and bake for 50 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is lightly browned. A knife should come out mostly clean from the center.
- Once done, remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour.
- For an extra delightful experience, refrigerate for an hour before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Serve with whipped cream for an added treat.
