Description

A delicious and easy beef taco pie perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 (4-ounce) can diced green chiles, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • As desired toppings: shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced olives, sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), and green chiles. Cook for 2 minutes more. Spoon mixture into prepared pie dish.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the meat mixture.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until well blended. Pour over beef mixture in pie dish.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
