- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides to lift the bars out easily after baking.
- Combine flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Add melted butter and vanilla extract, then mix until a soft dough forms with no dry spots remaining.
- Transfer two-thirds of the dough into the prepared pan and press it firmly into an even layer to create a stable crust.
- Place chopped strawberries in a bowl and add sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir gently until the strawberries are evenly coated and the mixture begins to look slightly glossy.
- Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the crust, ensuring the fruit is distributed across the entire surface for consistent flavor in each bar.
- Break the remaining dough into small pieces and scatter it over the strawberry layer without pressing, allowing gaps for the filling to show through.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is lightly golden and the strawberry filling is bubbling around the edges.
- Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool fully at room temperature so the layers set and slice cleanly.
- Beat softened cream cheese in a bowl until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk, then mix until the glaze reaches a smooth, pourable consistency.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars, then lift them out of the pan using the parchment overhang and slice into squares.

- Make sure to use fresh strawberries for the best flavor.
